Back from Disney

We'll we're back from our family vacation to Disney World. We all had a great time, but it is soooo nice to be home and away from the Florida humidity! Instead of doing a recap of the trip, I put together my personal list of Disney tips. Enjoy!

1) Four days at Disney is one day too many for a 2 and 4 year old (okay and their parents too).

2) A cheap spritzing fan from Walmart will keep a 2 & 4 year old entertained for hours, just be sure you don't buy cheap batteries and keep said fan blade out of the mouths of two year olds.

3) Eva (2 yrs old) hates sand and getting dirty, so the beach probably wasn't a very good choice, especially if you have to drive more than an hour to get there.

4) Buy a double stroller...it's cheaper than renting one at Disney for 4 days.

5) If you are going to eat at one of the Disney parks, order one of their $5 kids meals...even if you're 30.

6) Even if you are trying to stay away from the high-priced souveniers, buy the kids some mouse ears...the photos alone are priceless.

7) Enjoy the Magic Kingdom in the Fall, Winter or Spring or sometime when the weather is cooler than 97 degrees with 100% humidity...especially if you'll end up carrying around a little one who is too hot to walk (or ride in a stroller).

8) Stand in line and get the autograph of a guy dressed in head-to-toe green mesh...you never know when you'll see a sight like that again.

9) Let your two year old drive the race cars...even if it gives you whiplash.

10) And finally...as much as you hate riding on the Jungle Cruise, some captains tell really funny jokes, so go ahead and ride it 3 times to make your two year old happy.

Oh wow, you were so brave to take your girls to Disney World! The idea of a 2 and 4 year old duo wreaking havoc on the happiest place on earth gives me the chills. But wow, do your kids look happy in those photos! Glad you all had a great time!

We, too, went to Disney when our oldest were 2 and 4....I remember sitting on a bench for 2 hours while my 2 year old napped on my lap and my husband and 4 year old took in some rides....It is exhausting and I give you tons of credit for doing it in the summer !!! Looks like you had so much fun and have memories galore :) We went back last year when the boys were 16, 13 and 9.....a MUCH easier trip.

I can't imagine...you people are "super parents" this to me would be a very hard thing to do with small kind, and the heat!!!! I bet the good times, far out weighed the bad. Looks like a good time was had by all. Very nice blog post too.

Memories? We live an hour away from all the Central FL attractions and went often when kids little. Now, we point the way and offer our car for transportation, but had enough Mickey to last a lifetime! LOL! The kids loved it though, and if I could hang in long enough, the night parades and the fireworks were delightful.

That trip looks exhausting! That's why I let a family friend take my then 7 year old to Disney without me! I remember the stories of how hot it was , also in July, like your trip. I hope you had an overall good time. Thanks for sharing

Looks like a grand if exhausting time! So sorry we just missed each other.

Stomped around Epcot on Saturday - I live an hour away & even I was grumbling about the heat

July in the south is hard to handle anywhere but you all look like you had a fun time despite the heat. We took my oldest when he was about 6 and I remember that every ride he wanted to get on was over his height so there was a lot of tears....but he LOVED the hotel pool...lol. We could have stayed there all day every day and it would have been okey dokey :)
